About

Tasana is Russia’s first virtual card-based Buy Now, Pay Later app, allowing users to split payments for purchases from any store. Back in 2020, it was a unique product, and I was thrilled to contribute to its development.

My role

I worked closely with Tasana's stakeholders to bring my expertise to establish the foundational design elements. This involved designing a mobile app interface & landing page that aligned seamlessly with Tasana's vision.

Define product pillars

We defined the core principles that guided our design process. These three pillars were crucial in shaping the product's user experience:

🔍

Transparency

Our focus was on creating a transparent design where users can trust that there are no hidden fees or unexpected charges

📖

Guidance

Given the sensitive nature of finance topics, the UI should be intuitive and provide clear instructions, making complex processes easy to follow

🌊

Smooth onboarding

The design should ensure a fast and simple registration process, avoiding any overwhelming steps

Flows and wireframes

Before starting the design, I mapped out the app’s features and user flows, outlining how users would interact with each step. I then created low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the layout and functionality of key screens.

One of the main tasks was deciding how to lay out the home page, making sure the user’s balance and virtual card were easy to use. I also focused on creating a design that could be quickly implemented by the dev team without sacrificing usability.

The Tasana project taught me how to prioritize, collaborate effectively, and solve problems creatively under tight deadlines and technical constraints. I learned to create solutions that respect both MVP constraints and user needs.
