About
GetCompress is a cross-platform desktop application designed for professionals working with large volumes of files. The project focused on creating an efficient workflow that balances advanced functionality with a clean, distraction-free interface.
My role
Sole designer, leading the product design from concept to launch
Designed a cross-platform interface for macOS, Windows and Linux
Simplified complex workflows through intuitive drag-and-drop interactions
Defined the visual identity, including logo
Created product visuals, motion demos and marketing assets
Launched in May 2026, GetCompress received positive user feedback for its UX and UI and attracted its first paying customers without offering a free trial.

The best UX is less UI
The core workflow can be completed from a compact floating window, allowing users to compress files without interrupting what they're already doing.
Highlights
Main window
The default configuration is based on the settings most people use. Users can simply drop in their files and get things done in seconds. More advanced settings are available on the right, with clear names and short explanations.

Onboarding
People download the app before buying a licence just to make sure it's a real product. The welcome screen gives them a quick overview of the app, while helping existing customers get familiar with its core features.

File cards
Displays previews, compression progress and file details at a glance, with quick access to key options.
Pressets
Presets let users save common configurations and switch between them with a single click instead of repeating the same setup every time.
Other assets
Promo & video
I also made marketing assets and short promo videos to support the launch. Motion design isn't part of my daily work, but I enjoy experimenting with it whenever I get the chance!
